Outpost-DAS

FIBER OPTIC
PERIMETER INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM
The Outpost Perimeter Intrusion Detection and Security (PIDS) system safeguards your infrastructure and assets using advanced distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technology capable of identifying and locating multiple threats in real time, with point-locating capabilities up to 10m.

Features

UNIQUENESS
– immune to electromagnetic, lightning and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) and ensures reliable operation in challenging environments;
– suitable for sites that are vulnerable to fire and explosions;
– concealed: sensor installed underground cannot be detected by intruders, and does not change the area's appearance. This results in a system that can neither be bypassed nor sabotaged;
RELIABILITY
– operability under adverse weather conditions;
– operation within a wide range of temperatures -60..+85 °C;
EFFICIENCY
– no requirement for the power in the field;
– low running and maintenance costs;
– low total cost of ownership;
– locates intrusions with up to 10 m accuracy;
– a single channel of controller can serve up to 25 kilometres of the perimeter line;
– available 2 channels for one controller;
– lifetime of optical cable up to 25 years
FLEXIBILITY AND SCALABILITY
– reduced nuisance alarms using reliable algorithms that decipher and classify the type of intrusion in real time;
– integration with wide range of systems, including C2 and PSIM , video-monitoring, video-analytics, monitoring and control of access, lighting, power saving, firefighting, etc.

Technology

The PIDS system utilizes one fiber of a single mode standard telecommunications cable, buried along the perimeter of an asset, to monitor and detect unwanted activity. For measurement, the system utilizes a Coherent Optical Time Domain Reflectometer, or Interrogator Unit (IU), located alongside the alarm processing unit (APU). After injecting laser pulses down the length of the fiber, the IU recon- structs acoustic signals detected from the backscattered light along the cable. Signal processing software is used to analyze these signal in real time:

  • locates intrusions with up to 10m accuracy;
  • identifies intrusion types: pedestrian, group of pedestrians, vehicle, heavy vehicle, digging.

Simplified scheme of work – Outpost-DAS
THE LINEAR PART IS ARRANGED ON THE PERIMETER:
  • fiber-optical cable is acting as a sensitive element;
  • patching facilities.

THE STATION PART IS ARRANGED IN THE SERVER ROOM:
  • optical signal processing module;
  • secondary processing server;
  • command & control software;
  • operators' workstations.
